Renovating a shell pool: osmosis, bleaching, cracks

Appearance alone cannot confirm a leak or the cause of a crack. Repairability depends on the support, structure and existing system. Unusual water loss must be compared with evaporation and use; a daily threshold alone does not prove a leak.

A bleached or rough surface does not prove lost watertightness. Blisters alone do not establish osmosis. Laminate treatment and drying require a diagnosis; renovation is not always sufficient.

Before draining or refilling, have ground and groundwater risks checked, along with current water restrictions in your municipality. Scheduling depends on weather, substrate moisture and the manufacturer’s application conditions, not just the calendar.

Work is quoted after a technical visit. Repair, drying and curing times depend on the chosen system. Swimming resumes only once the site is safe, prescribed curing times have elapsed and water quality has been checked where necessary.
